
Programmers Needed
Pay rate: Depends on
the project budget - quoted individually
Location: 100% telecommute
We need to hire a minimum of
two people, part-time, who are excellent programmers. We don't
need any elitist prima donnas here, just good solid coders
who understand how competitive this industry is. This position
will require that you be available for tight deadlines, on
an as-needed basis.
We often have quick programming
tasks that need to be handled, and we recently acquired a
contract where many such projects will need to be handled
on a regular basis. Sometimes, you will be provided with already
existing code and asked to modify it. Other times, you may
be handed a word document, and provided very minimal instructions.
Either way, you need to be bright and fast, since you will
be expected to produce clean code with few, if any, questions
asked.
The type of person we need
meets all of the following expectations in addition to the
above noted requirements. Please do not submit your application
unless you meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Must have high speed internet connection
- Must have some URLs you can point to
in your application form that will show us what you've done
(will be kept confidential if required)
- Must be intimately familiar with programming
languages of your choice and web development basic standards
- Must be highly literate in English and
have impeccable spelling and grammar, because you may need
to do basic edits to text as you go.
- Must be able to use logic to solve problems.
In other words, if you are asked a question you aren't familiar
with, you will search for the information you need quickly,
and exhaust all possible resources before asking your manager
to find the answer for you.
- Must be willing to work on tight deadlines
and be very responsive to your manager.
There are a variety of programming
tasks we need handled on a regular basis. You will be learning
things you never knew about, and we're willing to work with
you to learn new skills. But if you don't have the above qualities
to begin with, it won't work out and will waste our time and
yours.
