HTML Formatting Assistants Needed
Pay rate: Depends on
the project budget
Location: 100% telecommute

We need to hire a minimum of
two people, part-time, who are well versed in HTML. We don't
need any elitist prima donnas here, just good solid coders
who understand how competitive this industry is, and can tell
the difference between BR and B. This position will require
that you be available for tight deadlines, on an as-needed
basis.
We often have quick HTML formatting
tasks that need to be handled, and we recently acquired a
contract where many such projects will need to be handled
on a regular basis. Sometimes, you will be provided with the
HTML template, with instructions to integrate specific text
into the code, and apply existing styles to paragraphs, rather
than hand-formatting each line. Other times, you may be handed
a word document, and shown a website which you are to use
to model a new HTML page after. Either way, you need to be
bright and fast, since you will be expected to produce clean
HTML pages with few, if any, questions asked.
Ideally, you can also produce
clean header graphics as required, and understand enough about
graphics to use PSD templates and modify as required, creating
appropriate .jpg and .gif files as needed. However, if this
is unfamiliar territory to you and you would rather stay away
from this, but you have a lot of experience in handling Word
> HTML conversions, we can still work with you and team
you up with a graphics person if we need to.
The type of person we need
meets all of the following expectations in addition to the
above noted requirements. Please do not submit your application
unless you meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Must have high speed internet connection
- Must have some URLs you can point to
in your application form that will show us what you've done
(will be kept confidential if required)
- Must be intimately familiar with web
browsers and web development basic standards
- Must be highly literate in English and
have impeccable spelling and grammar, because you may need
to do basic edits to text as you go.
- Must be able to use logic to solve problems.
In other words, if you are asked a question you aren't familiar
with, you will search for the information you need quickly,
and exhaust all possible resources before asking your manager
to find the answer for you.
- Must be familiar with cascading style
sheets.
- Must be willing to work on tight deadlines
and be very responsive to your manager.
There are a variety of web
development/conversion tasks we need handled on a regular
basis. You will be learning things you never knew about, and
we're willing to work with you to learn new skills. But if
you don't have the above qualities to begin with, it won't
work out and will waste our time and yours.
