To all who are wondering why Greg and Jeff would pay for Google Adwords campaigns, when collecting money for their relief efforts...

I am absolutely shocked that anyone would question Greg and Jeff's sincerity. These guys have gone way beyond the call of duty and have done something most of us would never have considered doing. They have taken it upon themselves to do more than just gasp at the news and pictures of the tragedy. They put their hearts, and wallets, on the line and decided they were going to DO something to help, long before government agencies have had the chance to get in there.

More than this...

They actually went so far as to take pictures at every step of the way, and actually scanned the receipts from the purchases, to make sure that everyone knew without a shadow of a doubt that they were beyond reproach. They aren't hiding what they are doing. They are announcing and proving at every stage, to make sure we all know exactly what they are doing.

More importantly, they are letting us see exactly what they are doing because they want us to be able to see it through their eyes, and experience the joy of making a Real Difference in the world.

Today, I read something that made me incredibly sad. People have actually implied that these guys are up to no good because there were Google Adwords campaigns running on their behalf.

It makes me sad because neither Greg nor Jeff, nor anyone else affiliated with this effort had anything at all to do with it. I personally took it upon myself to post a Google Adwords campaign, and I am paying for it out of my own pocket, as my small way of helping these guys do some good in this world. I wanted to keep it quiet. I didn't want my name posted anywhere on their site. I simply didn't want the recognition for what I chose to do.

I wanted to help, anonymously, quietly, with no one singing my praises or even being aware of what I did. Frankly, I was planning on running these ads without saying anything to Greg and Jeff either, but realized after I started the ads running that they should, at least, be told about it.

But other than me telling them about it, I had no intention of seeing my name anywhere on their list of contributors. I simply wanted to help, by telling as many people as I could about what these guys were doing.

Now, after seeing how my ads have caused people to question their ethics, I am choosing to step out of the shadows and tell everyone what I've done, if only to release these guys from the glaring spotlight of false accusations and horrible assumptions that a few nasty people have chosen to make.

I am ashamed of humanity in times like these. If you are one of those who have pointed your fingers in accusation, you need to spend some quiet time examining your motives. Could it be because you are ashamed you DID NOTHING while others stood tall and made an effort to make a difference?

I was watching the Ellen Degeneres show today, and my eyes welled up when she tearfully told a story of a man who, within 9 hours of the tragedy, loaded up his plane with 22,000 pounds of supplies and went in to help. He didn't waste time pointing fingers at what others were doing...he simply helped as much as he could, as quickly as he could.

If you want to know who I am, just put my name in any search engine and find out for yourself. My reputation is important to me, because I refuse to associate myself with anything or anyone that isn't above reproach.

Greg and Jeff are ordinary guys who could not...would not...stand by and watch people suffer. They went to a great deal of trouble and expense to stand up and yell "NO! We will not let this horror happen and do nothing"
