Job Description
* Small legal department of growing New York City company providing support services to financial and other industries seeks an experienced Contracts Manager with strong documentation skills and process re-engineering experience.
* In this newly created position, you will work closely with our finance and sales departments to streamline and manage the contract process including creation of templates, customization, processing and reporting.
* If you have a demonstrated track record for superior systems administration and problem solving, combined with excellent drafting and communications skills, you will enjoy the challenges and rewards we have to offer.
Responsibilities
* Manage contract processes to improve sales efficiency, customer experience and internal controls
* Lead projects to standardize contracts and streamline contract processes using existing or new systems
* Assist to provide appropriate contract language for negotiated and unique transactions
* Ensure legal and accounting requirements are met in all sales contracts
* Develop, write and publish reports from contract databases
* Assist to train sales personnel on pricing and contract negotiations and processes
* Assist to develop contracts for new markets (regions and products) and appropriate system requirements
Qualifications
* A minimum of 7-10 years in a corporate legal department or law firm as a legal assistant, project manager or contracts manager, with a demonstrated track record for increasing efficiency and improving automated systems.
* Work in a sales support or operations capacity is a plus.
* Deep knowledge of and experience with service and/or technology contracts, change orders, subscriptions, etc., and management of related templates, systems and databases.
* Must have a four-year college degree and superior writing skills.
* Preferred candidates have a good sense for numbers and statistics (math or computer science background).
* Must have proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and appropriately balance priorities.
* Knowledge of contractual terms is necessary, specifically those that deal with commercial sales contracts. Experience with license agreements is a plus.
* Must think logically and have great eye for detail to spot and fix contract inconsistencies.
* Must be very proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
* Knowledge and experience working with the following are a plus:

- Salesforce.com
- Microsoft Access
- Business Objects

* Work midtown or downtown.
* Flexible schedule (40 hours/wk).
