Data Researcher/Fact-Checker Wanted EXPERIENCED ONLY -- Telecommute (Midtown)

We are a small but very successful financial services firm that needs extra help from a meticulous, detail-oriented person. We offer to our clients a data service that compiles data on financial products from a variety of sources, and need assistance gathering and regularly updating that data.

Here are some of the features of the position:

* This is a part-time, hourly position for someone WITH EXPERIENCE IN DATA RESEARCHING AND FACT CHECKING. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE. THIS IS NOT A GENERAL ADMIN POSITION.

* The company has offices on 42nd Street and 5th Avenue in New York City, and you are welcome to work there, but this position can be performed through telecommuting. We do not care where you are geographically.

* Some of the work can be performed off-hours, although you will need to be accessible by phone and e-mail during normal working hours as well. This is NOT the right position for someone with a full-time office job who cannot take or make phone calls during the day.

*Knowledge of financial services is not necessary, but the ideal candidate will be able to familiarize themselves quickly with the industry.


Here is a description of the work to be performed:

This is a very detail-oriented, and perhaps even tedious, position that involves a lot of research and fact-checking on a regular basis to ensure that the financial data that we compile is up-to-date and accurate. Specifically, the position consists of three primary functions:

*Working with companies supplying the core data to make sure that we are regularly getting their product updates.

*Compiling product data in our system.

*Regularly updating our database via an administrative back-end application. Knowledge of this application is not necessary (we will train you) although the ideal candidate will have advanced computing skills including Internet Explorer, MS Word, and MS Excel, and a high level of competency in Internet research.
